e-distribuzione – Enel Days is a live painting created by artist Neve in 2019 in Rome, spray on canvas, 200 × 200 cm, for the Enel Days event.
A 200×200 cm spray on canvas executed as a live painting at the Enel Days event in Rome in 2019, commissioned by e-distribuzione — the Enel group subsidiary responsible for Italy's electricity distribution grid. The subject is a worker: a man seen in close three-quarter profile, face tilted slightly upward, wearing a white hard hat bearing the e-distribuzione logo. He occupies the entire picture plane — monumental in scale, desaturated in palette, rendered in Neve's hyperrealist technique with the deep contrasts and dramatic chiaroscuro of the studio works applied here to a figure of industrial labor. Across his face and through the composition, a network of high-voltage electricity transmission pylons is overlaid — ghost-printed in the same dark tones as the stormy sky behind him. The pylons are not background; they pass through the man, superimposed on his features, mapping the infrastructure he maintains onto the human face that maintains it. Storm clouds move behind him. His jacket is blue; at the left edge, something orange — a tool, a safety element — grounds the figure in physical work. The image proposes the worker as landscape: his face as the territory of the grid, the scale of the pylon network compressed into the scale of a person. The live painting format — Neve executing the work in real time at a company event — adds a performative layer: the image made visible in the same time and space as its audience. Neve's signature is at lower right.
