"Luz" is a 2015 studio work by Neve, 100 × 140 cm. A woman — a Madonna figure — seen in three-quarter or frontal view, a source of radiant light emanating from her chest: the fourth chakra, Anahata, the heart center. In the Indian and yogic traditions, Anahata governs love, compassion, and connection — it is the bridge between the lower, earthly chakras and the upper, transcendent ones, the point in the body where the human becomes something more than individual. It is depicted here not as symbol but as light: visible, structural, the brightest element in the composition. The figure is the Mother — not a specific religious icon but the archetype itself: the woman who holds, who gives, who radiates without diminishing. The light does not come from outside her; it comes from within, from the center of the chest, from the place where the capacity for love resides according to this tradition. The title, "Luz," is Spanish and Portuguese for "light." It is also, in Kabbalistic tradition, the name of the indestructible bone at the base of the spine — the seed from which the body will be reconstructed at resurrection. Light as origin. Light as what remains.
