"Terra" is a colored pencil drawing on black cardboard, 35 × 50 cm, from 2013. It depicts a sorceress — a fattucchiera — wrapped in a green veil, her face emerging from shadow with an unsettling, direct gaze. In her hands she holds a metal tray bearing scissors and small objects, the tools of an ancient, private craft. The drawing belongs to the same period as "Virgo" and "Zoloft" — a time of intimate studio work, close study of the face, and an attention to figures who carry knowledge of a particular kind: the shaman, the witch, the woman who knows things that cannot be taught. "Terra" has been exhibited in several shows, including London and Rome.
