"Eirene" is a mural commissioned by the Comune di Empoli and created by artist Neve in October 2025, in collaboration with PMG.

Named after the Greek goddess of peace, the work is a rich allegorical painting depicting a veiled young woman holding a broken hourglass from which sand endlessly spills. A small bloodstain on her lapel references the inevitable sacrifice that accompanies every conquest of freedom — a visual quote from Eugène Delacroix's "Liberty Leading the People." Behind the figure, a shattered mirror reflects peace in a distorted way: peace is never quite what we expect it to be.
